Privacy policy
Last updated August 25, 2026
This policy describes how Omnesly ("we," "us") handles information when you use our website and the Omnesly desktop application ("the app"). It's written to be read, not just filed — if anything here is unclear, email us at privacy@omnesly.com.
The short version
Omnesly is designed to be local-first. Your API keys and conversation history are stored on your own device by default and are not transmitted to our servers. When you use a connected AI model, your messages go directly from your device to that provider — not through Omnesly's infrastructure.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Omnesly, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, if you create an account or join the waitlist.
- Billing information, handled by our payment processor, if you subscribe to a paid plan. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves.
- Optional sync data, if you enable cloud sync on a paid plan — your conversations and settings, encrypted, so they can be shared across your own signed-in devices.
- Basic usage analytics, such as crash reports and feature usage, if you leave this setting enabled. This never includes your prompts, responses, or API keys.
Information we do not collect
- Your API keys, which are stored using your operating system's secure credential storage and never leave your device.
- Your conversations with AI models, unless you explicitly enable optional cloud sync.
- The content of messages sent to a connected provider — those go directly from your device to the provider you chose.
Third-party AI providers
When you connect a provider — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Qwen, or any other supported or custom endpoint — your use of that provider is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to review them, since Omnesly does not control how a provider handles the data you send it.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to operate the app and website, provide customer support, process payments for paid plans, and understand which features are actually useful so we can improve them. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your conversations to train any AI model.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored data — keys and conversation history — stays on your device until you delete it yourself, either within the app or by removing the app's local data. If you've used cloud sync, you can request deletion of your synced data at any time by contacting us.
Your choices
- Turn off usage analytics at any time in Settings.
- Disable or never enable cloud sync — Omnesly works fully offline aside from calls to your chosen AI provider.
- Export or delete your local data from within the app.
- Contact us to request access to, or deletion of, any information we hold about your account.
Children's privacy
Omnesly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users of material changes.
